White paper · Edition 2
The page-two problem
Most visibility never becomes a visit. Using 12 months of our own Search Console data, this white paper shows where impressions and clicks really sit, names the page-two queries that hold the most opportunity, and gives a repeatable five-step playbook (Pull, Filter, Match, Strengthen, Re-measure) for acting on it.
What is inside
- How the top ten took 3.9% of impressions but 31.6% of clicks
- Why one page held 204,827 impressions and 10 clicks
- How a fifth of our impressions came from a country we do not serve
- Eight named page-two queries and what to do about them
- A five-step playbook and a quick-win, build, defend, ignore matrix
- A 60-day plan and a ten-question check
Who it is for
Anyone with a website and Search Console access who wants a practical way to decide what to fix first.
Method and limits
Every figure is sourced in the paper. Our own data comes from a Google Search Console export for 1stcontent.co covering 12 months to 4 November 2026. It describes one website, so treat it as a method, not a benchmark for yours.
