What social media marketing should do for a business
Posting regularly is not a strategy. A useful social media programme starts by deciding who you want to reach, where they spend time and what you want them to do next. It then turns that into a steady rhythm of content that earns attention and trust.
For a business-to-business company, that usually means professional platforms such as LinkedIn, where decision makers read about expertise and track record. For a consumer business, it may mean Instagram, Facebook or TikTok, where people browse, compare and ask questions. Most businesses need two channels done well rather than six done thinly.
What social media can and cannot do
It can build recognition, show your work and personality, answer questions publicly and warm up people who are close to buying. It rarely produces instant sales on its own. It works best alongside search, a good website and, where it fits, paid advertising.
What we do
Audit and strategy
We review your current channels, your competitors and your audience, then agree which channels to focus on, what to say and how success will be measured.
A monthly content calendar
Each month you receive a plan of what will go out, with themes tied to what your buyers care about and to your offers and calendar. You approve it before anything is published.
Content creation
Our Social Starter package covers four posts and four stories a week, with copywriting and design time included each month. We write in your voice and design to your brand.
Management and community
We schedule and publish, and we help you handle comments and messages so enquiries do not sit unanswered. Where a question needs your input, we flag it quickly.
Paid advertising when it makes sense
Paid social can reach people who do not yet follow you. In our Social + Paid and Full Channel packages, we plan, build and optimise paid campaigns, with ad spend kept separate and reported openly. See also our Google Ads management.
Reporting
You get a report in plain language each month, or fortnightly on the Social + Paid package. It covers what went out, what it did and what we will change, with enquiries and visits to your site shown alongside reach and engagement.

What good social content looks like
Content that earns attention shows something a buyer cannot find in a brochure. We plan a mix that fits your business and your approvals process.
- Expert posts. Short, specific explanations of how your sector works, written so a buyer learns something.
- Case studies and examples. What you did, for whom and what changed, shared with permission and without invented numbers.
- Short video and carousels. Practical formats that suit mobile feeds and are easy to save and share.
- Behind the scenes. People, process and place, which build familiarity and trust.
- Offers and announcements. Used sparingly, so people do not scroll past them.
Where you work in a regulated sector, such as financial services or healthcare, we follow your compliance process and build approval steps into the calendar, so nothing goes out that has not been checked. Content is written in your voice, and you approve each month’s plan before publication.
How we choose the right channels
We choose channels by asking three questions. Where are your buyers already paying attention? What can your business say there that is useful and distinctive? And which channels can we realistically keep up at a high standard for the budget?
That is why we rarely recommend being everywhere. A financial adviser may do better with a few strong LinkedIn pieces a month and a short video series than with daily posts on five platforms. A restaurant may need Instagram and Google Maps and little else. We say so plainly.
Who this suits
Social media management suits businesses that want consistent, professional presence without building an in-house team, and that can give us access to the stories, people and offers that make good content. It is a weaker fit if you want overnight follower growth, if there is nothing yet to say, or if you cannot approve content within a reasonable time. In those cases we will suggest a smaller starting point, such as a strategy and content calendar on their own.
If social is one part of a wider plan, our digital growth programme joins it up with SEO and content.
Frequently asked questions
How much does social media management cost in South Africa?
Our Social Starter package is R7,500 a month. Social + Paid, with paid advertising on one channel, is R14,500 a month. Full Channel, with paid advertising on up to three channels, is from R24,500 a month. Ad spend is separate.
Which social media channels should my business use?
It depends on where your buyers pay attention and what you can say there. Business-to-business companies often do well on LinkedIn, while consumer brands may favour Instagram, Facebook or TikTok. We recommend focusing on a few channels and doing them well.
Do you guarantee follower growth or sales?
No. Nobody can honestly guarantee results from social media. We commit to the work we will do, report openly and measure against enquiries and visits to your website as well as reach and engagement.
Who creates the content?
We do. Our packages include copywriting and design hours each month, and we write in your voice and design to your brand. You approve the content calendar before anything goes out.
Do you manage paid social advertising?
Yes, in our Social + Paid and Full Channel packages. We build and optimise the campaigns, and your ad spend is paid to the platform, separate from our fee.
Is there a minimum contract?
Retainers run for a minimum of three months so there is time to see results, then month to month on 30 days’ notice.
Can you work alongside my SEO and content marketing?
Yes. Social works best as part of a wider plan, and we run SEO, content and paid media too, so the pieces support one another.
How do I get started?
Book a consultation and tell us about your business and goals. We reply within one working day with a practical next step.
